phobos

phobos grew up in the overworld with his brother, and had a relatively normal childhood. he got drafted into the nether patrol shortly after turning 18, and was sent to fight in a nether fortress.

the wither grew more and more powerful, becoming a threat to civilians. the portals were sealed, and the members of the patrol who couldn't make it in time were left for dead... phobos was one of them.

for months, he wandered through the abandoned fortress, slowly succumbing to the wither's curse. his brother managed to reopen the portal, then put an end to his misery, killing the mindless ghost wearing his skin. he then made a sacrifice to bring phobos back to life.

"i will bear this curse if it means i can keep you safe."
